Abstract

Abstract

Retroperitoneal paraganglioma are rare neoplasm which arises from neural crest cells. The natural course and response to the treatment of this entity are not still clear. Nevertheless, its clinical behavior depends on localization of tumor, cell characteristics and secretory capacity of the cells. Recurrence rates after complete surgical resection are 8-20% and disease-free survival is approximately ten years. Although pulmonary metastasis is rare, in case of detection, metastasectomy should be performed. We herein reported a 16-year-old girl who was performed surgical resection due to retroperitoneal paraganglioma and diagnosed with late pulmonary metastasis.
