Abstract

One of the characteristics of human beings is cell - specific stimulating and ability to transport or response to the stimulations. The most specialized and developed cells in terms of stimulation and transport are nerve cells. These specialized cells which communicate information all through body cells and tissues, and themselves constitute a network of nerves.

It is undoubtly that structure and functions of nervous system has vital importance. Therefore, nervous system is targeted in many studies and most of them focused on central nervous system. On the other hand, there are small numbers of study of peripheral nervous system (PNS).

In this review, because of insufficient literature about PNS, we aimed to present and enlighten myelinization and schwann cells which are main cells of PNS.
